Important Announcement March 3, 2021

As many of you know our building was for sale. The new owner has other ideas for the space thus we are needing to make new decisions. So many things have changed in the world as you are all aware, and our business has been negatively impacted like so many other small businesses. It has meant a lot of soul searching and deliberations. In the end, we remain optimistic that there is a future for retail and that COVID will eventually be conquered. So……

Camp Wool will be relocating!

Happily, we have decided to remain open. We are moving the business to a location far away from Kennebunk. We will be opening a new and improved (believe it or not) even larger version of Camp Wool to the Downeast town of Milbridge, ME. As a few of you know, this is an area we have vacationed for 20 plus years and several years ago bought a summer cottage. We love the area and as we ease into our later years of life, this is a beautiful spot in Maine that we wish to call home.

New Store Location: Milbridge, ME | Open Date June 23

The new location is the prior home of Seaworthy Event Center located at 23 Main St. (Rt. 1) Milbridge, ME. The building is 4,200 Square feet. It is a beautiful, safe, clean, well maintained space with a fantastic area for classes/open sews and tons of room for merchandise located right in the heart of this lovely seaside village. We will continue to carry all our wonderful products with intentions of expanding in a few areas as well and as always, we will also have a spot for antiques. We will start preparing the building soon, so our hope is to have only a small gap in service between the old store closing and the new one opening. However, it is still a little early for us to choose a specific open date at the new location. We have lots to move as you all know, and we want it to look its best when we reopen. Milbridge is a quaint seaside town only a ½ hour from Ellsworth and a few more miles to Bar Harbor. Nearby Winter Harbor and Corea Maine have many beautiful spots to shop and walk beautiful beaches. Our new location has many wonderful restaurants within walking distance, places to stay, a large grocery store and wonderful gift shop called the River Lily. We will post to face book and our website many fun local attractions as we get closer to the transition. We hope all of us will have the ability to travel as the year progresses and that you will have time to make a fun day trip up to this beautiful part of Maine!

Impacts to the Current Store and Timing:

Camp Wool will be closing here in Kennebunk. Our last day open is set for Saturday, May 22nd. Nothing will really change at the store until the store is closed so you still have time to shop at our current location. We are still fully stocked and continue to get new merchandise in right up to closing. We will just be moving the merchandise to the new and larger location. We may offer a few more discounted patterns but that will likely be the only impact. Classes will keep going through April and store hours will remain the same. Gift cards can be used here or at the new location and/or mail order.

My Reflections and Heartfelt Thanks:

When I started this business 13+ years ago in Wells, ME as a small rug hooking business, I had never dreamed that it would become the business it is today. But it has grown and grown because of all of you; our wonderful customers who encouraged us, gave us great suggestions and let us know what you were looking for. So many of you have followed us through the journey and supported us and we can’t thank you enough. I am so passionate about helping people find and grow their creative pursuits. It truly feeds the soul and WE ALL NEED THAT. Our projects give us peace, lower our blood pressure, comfort us when we are grieving and simply help us to cope and enjoy the journey of life and the pleasures of creating.

My sincere hope is that we are able to meet up again, continue our journey together at the new location, but if the journey is too far, I understand and hope that you will retain fond memories of your visits to our store. If you are able, I hope we can say goodbye in person prior to our move, but if not, I wish you much happiness in your creative pursuits.

Much love and my heartfelt thanks to all of you. Till we meet again.

LeAnn and Mark
