Update - Last Day in Milbridge and Moving

Well it's here ..... our last day in Milbridge! Sad day yet we are really getting excited to get the new store ready for business! Building needs a little bit of work which we will be doing over the next month or so and then we will move in the merchandise. I know you are wondering when we will be open but I just don't know yet. Just a few too many variables (weather being a big one) to know when we will reopen. My best guess is late February. I will keep you all fully apprised as our journey evolves and let you know as I know!

In the Meantime (i.e. During the month of December)!

We will be able to process phone orders including gift cards, merchandise sends etc. You can reach me by simply leaving a message at our Milbridge store at 207-546-2647. There may be a slight delay in calling you back, but I will check voice mail each day. Also, we will be working at the Milbridge store off and on starting the 2nd week in December. If you see the lights on or if you know you are passing by you are welcome to stop by. Merchandise will be moved gradually to avoid twice moves! You can also reach out to me via e-mail at campwool@outlook.com. Please note that is a new e-mail address for me. If we have corresponded in the past, my prior e-mail no longer works. I will not have access to e-mail the first week of December so please call me at the store instead and leave a message.

Next week I will be working on getting new store phone numbers etc. As soon as I have this I will publish when the new phone numbers will be live. In the meantime, if you are looking to make plans for a visit here is our address so you can plan your route!

Closing Thoughts

Final Close Date in Milbridge & Updated Hours for November

Hello All!

What a pleasure to see everyone in Rochester, NH at the Cocheco Quilt Show this past weekend!! Such a well-run show with beautiful quilts and wonderful vendors!! If you have not attended in the past, it runs every year and is just a great event!!!

Time seems to be flying and winter will soon be upon us, so my thoughts are now fully directed to maintaining a fun shopping experience here in Milbridge, ME while planning for the move to our new location in Hollis Center, ME! I have a few updates to share for the dates and hours we will be open and final close date for this location!

Hours and Dates of Operation for the Month of November

We will be open from 10:00 to 3:00 PM during the month of November. Daylight gets shorter and my eyes are not what they used to be so we will be closing an hour earlier in the month of November. The one exception is Wednesday, November 23. We will be closing at 1:00 PM that day in advance of Thanksgiving. We will be open every Wednesday through Saturday in November except Thanksgiving Day.

Final Close Date for Our Milbridge, ME Location

Our final close date for the Milbridge location will be Thursday, December 1. We will close at 3:00 that day. After that date, we will begin the final updates to our new building and move of merchandise. We will likely have some ability to mail merchandise while we are closed. I will post new contact information for the new store as soon as it is in place where you will be able to reach out to us should you need something! Continue to monitor our website and Facebook for important updates as our move progresses!

Please note we will continue to discount antiques and move fixtures so there are some great bargains to be had on some fun items. We are now offering 40% of antiques and 25% all cross stitch patterns. Cotton bolt fabric is also 20% off! We also continue to get in new patterns and wool so come in when you can for a final look while we're here up North!!

Important Update – Camp Wool is moving back South!

The last 4 years have been quite a ride for Camp Wool, from Covid shutdowns to a building being sold, to searching for new locations and then the BIG move up north. Along the way all of you have been so patient, helpful and so welcoming no matter the location! I can’t thank all of you enough for the support and your patronage.

Well, here at Camp Wool we don’t seem to have a 7-year itch but a 2-year itch! I have all along hoped to find a building that would be just the right fit and allow us to properly maintain and protect all the beautiful work and merchandise we have assembled over the years. Well, the time has come, and the right property became available to purchase so once again and I can unequivocally say for the last time: we are moving!

This new location will allow me to spend time with my family and friends down south, something I have dearly missed since leaving the area. We will still maintain our home up North for the eventual planned retirement and many happy visits as we truly love Downeast Maine!

Here’s what you need to know about the new location, timing of the move, a few sales and next steps!

New Location – Hollis Center, ME

The new location of the store is 36 Main Street, Hollis Center Maine. It is a standalone building with ample parking and lots of great light and large upstairs classrooms. We are currently doing some minor renovations to make it the best it can be! We will provide some teaser photos as work progresses! Conveniently located right on Route 35 and just blocks from Route 202 there are many routes with NO traffic you can take to get to the new location! For a frame of reference, it is approximately 20 miles NW from the old store in Downtown Kennebunk. The store is smaller than our last two locations but not by much and I promise we will have everything you’ve seen at prior locations with lots of our usual fresh new merchandise and samples for you to enjoy!

Current Location – Milbridge, ME

Our store remains open this fall into early winter here in Milbridge. I’ll be honest and say that an exact close date has not yet been made. However, we will likely close at this location sometime late November or early December. Candidly, the date will be based on winter and how quickly it sets in this year. As soon as I finalize a date, we will of course post.

In-store Sales:

Please take note to make room we will be selling some fixtures and a few things are going to be on sale just during the next few months. So, if you're in the area please stop by and look. Note: wool and wool products will not be discounted. Here are a few of the specials we will be offering starting, Wednesday, October 5:

• All antiques will be 30% off

• All cotton on the bolt will be 20% off with select bolts up to 50% off!

• All cross stitch patterns are 20% off

• All punch needle patterns are 20% off

• Store fixtures – hit and miss most will be moved to antique area but please inquire.

Next Steps/Timing of the New Store Opening:

The store in Milbridge remains open in October our usual Wednesday through Saturday’s with the exception of the week of October 17 in which we will be closed but vending at the Cocheco Quilt Show on Saturday, Oct. 22nd and Sunday, October 23 in Rochester, New Hampshire. We will be open in November our usual days of Wednesday through Saturday with the exception of Thanksgiving week. Look for updates closer to Thanksgiving for dates and times we will be open during that holiday.

The new store will open sometime early spring. Could be mid-February to early March! Much will depend on the weather and getting those desired improvements done and of course moving the merchandise in! Keep an eye on our website and Facebook for up to the minute news on the Grand Reopening at the new location!
