What a fun way for rug hookers to spend a weekend! It is always fun to explore new creative avenues with fellow fiber fans! In Snapshots, you will learn to create a pictoral piece using a mix of wool noodles, yarn, silk, roving and various other fibers from start to finish. Impressionistic styling lets you imply the details while conveying the ambiance of the scene. You will learn to analyze your photo to find the bones that become the structure of your finished piece. We will build on that using directional hooking techniques developing a foreground, mid-ground, horizon line, and sky. Color planning, outlining, and perspective will be discussed. Sunday we will discuss how to finish and display the piece. Discussion on framing options will also be offered.

Hello to all of you from Camp Wool! It’s been over 2 months at our new location and we are so happy with the new location. It is just perfectly suited for all our needs and we have so much more space and great light to see everything. We felt our first “Fall Air” this last week which tells us that our gardens will soon be put to bed and our hooks, needles and threads will start calling us again. Whether it's something for yourself or your next Christmas present, now is a great time for a visit! We are fully stocked with beautiful wool including a fresh crop of hand dyes. We just got in a large grouping of cross stitch linen and wonderful new cottons as well! So we hope you will be able to make that fall stock up trip before we head into winter!!! We look forward to seeing you!!! Also remember we have two Open Sews each month where you can come and stitch and time! Always the first and third Wed!

Also, for those that have been asking, we have posted a few beginner classes for Applique and Punch Needle! Due to spikes in COVID numbers we have limited our class sizes so we can properly social distance. Vaccination is required to take a class unless medically unable. Masks may or may not be required based on current CDC guidelines, Washington County Status and Maine as a whole. Our front door will always contain our current policy on masking based on the latest status.
